Lapis Lazuli is a stone which has been beloved since ancient times, and was popular in ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian cultures. It was historically ground down and used as a pigment for paint to decorate palaces, mosques and churches, and it is believed that Cleopatra used it to make eyeshadow. Some believe it to be a stone promoting friendship and honesty, and believe it to have strong healing properties.
One of the world's best loved gemstones, Turquoise can be found in shades of opaque blue, green and yellow, and is the traditional birthstone for December. It was prized by many cultures since ancient times across Asia, the Americas and Africa. It is believed by some to have balancing properties and to promote clear communication, being associated with the Throat Chakra.
Red Jasper is found in shades from brick and terracotta to a deeper rusty red and has long been associated with protection and courage. In the Viking sagas it was said to be inlaid into Siegfried's magical dragon-slaying sword. In Ancient Egyptian culture it was linked to Mother Isis and, similarly, in some Native American cultures to Mother Earth.
Each piece is handmade using natural materials, so stones may vary slightly — a sign of their authenticity.
