Like tiny bricks, the Lapis Lazuli stones have plenty of the glittering Pyrite inclusions for which this gemstone is treasured, and the Howlite beads show fascinating little patterns of grey.

Lapis Lazuli is a stone which has been beloved since ancient times, and was popular in ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian cultures. It was historically ground down and used as a pigment for paint to decorate palaces, mosques and churches, and famously Cleopatra used it to make eyeshadow. Some believe it promotes friendship and honesty.
Howlite in its natural form is white with grey & black markings; however due to its highly porous nature it is often dyed, and commonly used to imitate Turquoise. Some believe Howlite to be a calming stone, helpful in quieting the thoughts and aiding mindfulness and sleep.
